Arms Up & Let's Read

Totally asleep with his arms up.

Addison had been quiet for a bit so I go see what she is doing and she is in her glider reading to herself. Too cute!

I hope she always likes books.

Mason has pretty much outgrown his swaddle blankets and these days he is escaping from them also!!!

One Month Comparison

Addison at one month.

Mason at one month.
A's hair is darker brown, M's is light brown blonde with a red tint. A is very slender, M is much chunkier with chubby cheeks. A has Paul's ears, M has my ears. They both have kind of long feet, but M's aren't quite as long as A's were I believe. A was still strutting her newborn clothes with room to grow, M is quickly outgrowing 0-3 months clothes! M is longer than A. M is already on a pretty good eating and sleeping schedule as to were A was not very consistent until about 2 months.

Since every one likes to know the difference between them I decided to state a few, but one thing remain the same they are absolutely LOVED in every way!!!

Mason- ONE Month Old

June 10, Mason turned a BIG ONE month old!!! I truly CANNOT believe it. I feel like I was just in labor yesterday. I do not know where time is going! The days literally fly by and blur together. I have to write everything down on the calendar or there is a very very good chance that I will forget it and even still I forget things! I have to say all of the worry that I had about having two babies so close in age was for nothing really. Things do take longer and it is harder to get things done, but I do not remember life without him! It seems like I have had him forever. I am adjusting to the fact that it is okay to not get everything done everyday and those things are not what is important. I want to soak up every second of this newborn stage!!!!! I know it goes by in a blink of an eye. Plus since he is probably our last baby I got to enjoy every moment possible!!! I just want to keep them little for a bit. :)
For Mason's first 30 days of life he has been such a sweet, content baby. He hardly ever cries. Keep him fed, swaddled and he is happy! He is not crazy about getting his clothes changed. The first bath he did not enjoy, but now he loves them...warm water please and he will just look around towards the window and the lights for as long as I let him. I use Addison's old infant tub and it brings back memories from when I JUST bathed her in that tub. WOW!
Mason's umbilical stump fell off on this day also...funny it turned out to be the day he turned 1 month...very similar to Addison, but I had to take her in to get hers burned off.....another similarity is that I lost his stump also!!! It was not in his diaper, clothes or changing table! The dogs were outside all day too so who knows where it went. I am guessing it ended up in his diaper some how.
Mason is very serious about eating. He gets down to business and when he is done he is done, as to were Addison would stay latched on forever suckling. As of right now, his feds are every 2 to 3 hours, but at night he feeds at 10:30pm (that's mine and his bedtime), 3:30am (5 straight hours of sleep...woohoo, AGM did not sleep straight like that for awhile consistently), 5:30am and 7:30am is wake up time. I have adjusted very quickly to the lack of sleep once again. I am guessing since it was not that long ago my body and brain just fell right back into the groove. Don't get me wrong, I DO miss getting eight hours of straight sleep, but right now I am doing pretty good on the five. Paul did give Mason his first bottle June 8 (I believe...I blogged it), but other than that just breastmilk for my boy.
Mason has fell right into a good schedule with his long daytime naps and dirty diapers also. I have gotten quiet use to the differences in changing a boys diaper. Much harder than a girls diaper I believe! He does not poop at night time now so I can forgo the late night diaper changes! WOOHOO once again! ;) That is one thing I really do not like doing when you have a newborn is those during the night diaper changes for some reason. He does have really wet diapers and big poops. Gas, gas, gas....he can burp and 'toot' like the best of them that is for sure! All boy when it comes to that!
He is growing, growing, growing or should I say OUTGROWING his clothes! By age 2 wks he had pretty much outgrown all his newborn clothes and as of now some 0-3 months things are starting to be too short on him, its hard to get over his head, and his feet don't have room! I do not know why our babies have big feet! He is even outgrowing his swaddle blankets. Mason weighed at 4 days what Addison weighed at 4 weeks! (Thanks to my good record keeping!) I see some shopping in my near future with him. He is going to run me through clothes I believe as to were Addison wears her clothes FOREVER! Already SO DIFFERENT! I LOVE every minute of it though. It keeps me on my toes that is for sure.

To our son,
Mason you have added so much to our family already in such a short period of time. We all love you so much. It seems like we have always had you in our lives. Your big sister thinks you are her baby I do believe! She does not like it when you do get upset, it makes her upset! She loves to kiss you and rub your head softly. I hope that you two will be an awesome team throughout life protecting each other and loving one another. I cannot get enough snuggle time with you. You are so sweet and I just love kissing your sweet chubby cheeks. I want to bottle this time up and keep it forever! Such sweet blessings and memories to hold forever. Happy one month son!!!
With all of my love,
Mommy

Mason's First Playgroup

Here is BIG sister and LITTLE brother about to head out to Mason's first playgroup. He is 4 weeks old that day. It feels like we have not been to playgroup in forever although it has only been a month.

LOVE HIM!

BIG sister protecting her baby brother at playgroup!!! Oh yes! She did not like it when the other kids came near him. I think she thinks he is "her" baby! LOL! I have to add it was not bad taking them both. I did have to nurse Mason which I knew I would since playgroup falls during his fed time, but it was fine. Go figure me worry for nothing! I got good kids!

June 9th Randoms

Addison got in Mason's seat and covered herself with her favorite blanket. So cute.

I love this side profile pic! He was looking out the window.

Mason reminds me of a baby pic of myself when I was a baby.

Sweet Boy Swinging

Posted by Picasa
Mason is so content. He will even sit in his swing while it is still and just look around, but this is a video of him just checking out the mobile. I love that this swing has a mobile with lights and music if you want it.
