Mason's Birthday....

He is trying to find his thumb! He may be a thumb sucker....I am going to try to get him on a paci instead of his thumb. A paci will be much easier to break from! ;)

Loving his paci!

Oh, just look him! Perfect!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!!!

So I want to add some details about labor before the details get too fuzzy...you are forewarned! The weary should turn back now... ;) I have been hurting the last two weeks as in braxton hicks contractions and lots of pressure down low and some really bad acid reflux (I even had to give into taking meds for it...zantac). By this last weekend I knew labor was soon, as in before the following weekend. I could just tell. I puffed up all of a sudden as I did with Addison a few days before I had her. Monday the 10th I started loosing my mucous plug and started getting much more intense contractions that I really was having to stop and notice, along with lots more pressure. I really thought Tuesday night I was going into early labor, but it was not until 3am Wednesday morning that I woke up with some intense contractions that were consistently 1o minutes apart and lasted about 15 seconds. I knew these were just the precursor to what was ahead so I was prepared at this point that labor was well on its way...any moment! So I figured since things hurt and get worse for me at night that things would progress Wednesday night (the 12th) and they certainly did. As I laid down for bed at about 9pm I started hurting more often and more intense. I could still move and function with these, but I was certainly uncomfortable. With every contraction I felt like I had to go to the bathroom....I knew this night was going to be a long night. At midnight (now Thursday the 13th), I was really really uncomfortable and I did not sleep at all. I had Paul lay close to my back for the body heat because it was killing me. 3am hit me like a ton of bricks, as in I knew these contractions were extremely close and intense so I started timing a few and they were between 5-7 minutes apart. I woke Paul and had to have him start the timing because I was having to focus too much at this point and they were 3-5 minutes apart and lasting one minute plus. I was having chills and shaking and then the nausea hit....luckily I had zofran on hand! Such a lovely drug in a time like this. Paul said I think we need to call Labor and Delivery. I already knew I should go in with all of the pressure and the way I was feeling it WAS TIME. I called them to see what they said and they said 'Yes, hon I think you should come on in so we can see what is going on.' I am thinking what is going on is that I am about to birth this baby any moment now!
So we head to Labor and Delivery at 4:45am and we get there about 5:15am, I was 6 cm dilated, 90% effaced, but she said he needed to come down some more....plus, I am worried because my water has not broke yet and I REALLY wanted it to break on its own. ALL NATURAL all the way...I am so hoping. By the time they took me to my room, did some last minute paperwork, and barely got an IV in I was telling them I had extreme pressure and was hurting. They barely even wanted me to go to the bathroom because they were afraid I was going to have this baby literally standing up! They checked me again only really minutes later at 6:30am and I was 9 cm. I wanted to PUSH! They told me no, no, no....you have to wait on the doctor plus I needed to dilate a little more....and I am worried once again because my water still has NOT broke. They sent a nurse to just monitor my dilation and seriously moments later I was 10cm at 7:00am. The nurse told me she wanted to see how good of a pusher I was and wanted me to give one gentle push...I did and my water BUSTED all over her and some on Paul. It WAS FINALLY time to PUSH!!! WOOHOO!!! I pushed for about 12 minutes and there our beautiful baby boy was born at 7:12am!!!! He came into this world weighing 7lbs 7.2 oz and 20.2 oz.
Such an amazing feeling! I cannot even explain it! Happy birthday Mason!!! Mommy and Daddy have becomed blessed once again!!!

First Family Photos

Addison got to come met her baby brother a few hours after he was born. When she first walked in she was a little unsure of what was going on, but then wanted up in the bed with me to see him. She pointed to me and said 'Mommy' and then pointed to Mason and said 'brother'. It was so cute because she keep saying it over and over.

I really wish you could see Mason's face in this one, but I still love this one.

Addison giving Mommy extra love. So sweet!

May 13 MASON'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

May 13, 2010 our son Mason Garnett McNeely was born at 7:12am!!!! He weighed 7lbs 7.2oz and 20.2 inches long! So he was a little bit bigger than his sister was and a little bit longer....which I knew he would be. :)

Our first photo together with our son...minutes after he was born.

Daddy and his son....too sweet!

Here is an up close. He resembles his sister, but its too early to see who he looks exactly alike right now. However, he is the most handsome boy ever! ;)

I just wanted to post these pics really quick but more details will come soon!

Drop, Drop, Dropping.....

I am about to pop!!! My belly is so big at the bottom and he is sooo low it makes it really hard to behind in certain positions. If you look at the pic above you can see he is not high at all which I knew and the doctor said he was already on my pubic bones a week ago, but I am wondering if he dropped even lower...is that even possible?!?! I have a serious waddle. At this point I just have to laugh. To my son, your mother loves you so much that she is documenting all of this for you to read one day and know that your mother loves you dearly! :)

Some of my funnies about being 9 months pregnant:
You know you are 9 months pregnant when....
- you try not to wear shoes that require tying
-balancing requires other objects plus concentration
-all clothes must stretch
-you and acid reflux have become great friends
-you forget how much extra space you require when walking through a crowd
-you forget how much extra space you require walking through a crowd....with a diaper bag on your back and a baby on the hip....watch out people, someone will get knocked over
-cravings hit at any time of the day
-the bathroom is such a fond place...plus you look for one where ever you go as soon as you get there
-sleeping comfortably....well, forget that one! hahahaha
-don't think you will reuse those maternity clothes with the second baby because they have too many stains on them from your belly catching spills...yes, I did write that ;0

Now, I am tired so I must stop here, but trust I could go on and on. I am not knocking how wonderful pregnancy is, but there are quite a few funnies about it as well.
