She is doing the Itsy Bitsy spider song!
I have to start off by saying... WOW! I CANNOT believe my baby girl is one month away from turning 2!!! (Actually at the time of my post she is less than 2 wks away from being a BIG 2 YEAR OLD! YIKES!!!) It also makes a little sad to think that this may be my last monthly photo shoot that I have been doing now for "almost" two years now! :( It makes me incredibly sad to think she is a toddler and all the baby stages have come and gone in a blink of an eye. She is my first born, she made me a mother and she will ALWAYS be a baby in my eyes. I always heard other mothers say that, but now I know how that feels!
It seems like yesterday that she... cooed for the first time (9/24/08), first giggle (10/08), first belly laugh (11/28/08), first roll from tummy to back (12/7/08), first night in crib (12/08), first bite of rice cereal (12/22/08), started jarred food-green beans (1/22/09), started reaching for everything and say Da (1/09), held self up on hands and knees (2/3/09), first roll onto belly (2/10/09), pull self up to standing and crawls backwards (2/09), trying more real table foods and started crawling and first tooth and first time clapping hands and now say Ma (3/09), can find nose and mouth now and flew on an airplane for the first time (4/09), started walking (5/09), you say Mom, Ma Ma (6/09), first trip to TN and first camping trip (7/09), slept through the night ~12 hrs (8/09), touch your head and hold crayon (9/09), said butterfly (9/19/09)..... Yes, I could go on and on!
It is amazing that I use to carry her around in the baby carrier and now she can walk holding my hand and point to things and tell me what they are. She is so smart and learns very quickly! I just remember putting the little newborn baby gowns on her at night and now I put big girl gowns on her. She use to wear newborn diapers and now she is in a size 4diaper while potty training. She was bald with little hair and now doing her hair each day is not a choice, but a must...I have to add I do love that she has so much hair! ;) She use to stay in one spot and now you can't hold her down in one spot even if you tried!
Okay, okay, I have to save some things for her BIG 2 year post so I must move on. As you can tell this is a huge birthday for me, but I imagine each one will be a huge one. ;)
At this point, she is doing so much that I do not think I could even list it all if I tried! She is speaking clear 4-5 word sentences at times. She can sing part of her ABC's and can recognize several of the letters. The other day she said "Mommy, R! Mommy, O!" I really do even know what in all she does know because she is ALWAYS coming up with something new....like today she said some mumble jumble 5, 6...! So I know she is getting what I am saying and that all that we do is going somewhere! She loves Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, Spin, Spin Sugar Baby, and she sings them in her own way. Play-doh is her new favorite thanks to Auntie Cici for the early birthday presents! She will ask "Mommy, alweegator, peeezzzz!" wanting me to help her make one with the play-doh. Her laugh just makes my heart sing! She can recognize most basic shapes and some colors....she has a new obsession with yellow here lately. She loves her new baby brother and has to go see him first thing in the morning and she says "Good mornin broder!" It is the sweetest to see her give him kisses! Hugs and kisses are her favorite! Even with all that sweetness she has hit her terrible two's for sure with her new found miss independent attitude....she like to say "No!" and "Stop it!" Gurrr.... I cannot believe how grown she has gotten. Before I know it she will be starting school. I want to soak it ALL up and enjoy every minute!!!!!!!!
Happy 23 months Addison Grace!!! One more month until your "Gabba Parteeee!!!!!!!"
With Love,
Mommy :)
